7 Online Marketing Strategies
1. Personal Branding.
What is personal branding? Personal branding is how you market yourself and/or your business. It is what people think of when it comes to you as an individual or a company. Personal branding is ongoing and you should always strive to making and maintaining your brand better and better.
How can you make your personal branding better? Here are some tips:
1) Figure out exactly who you are: What experience do you have? What do you enjoy doing? Much of this I have covered under my post Branding Your Business: Why branding is important..
2) Who is your audience? What are your audience needs? What are their desires? What are their demographics? Who are your potential and current customers? Who is your customer avatar? I have covered information on this under my How to find a target audience article. Check it out if you haven’t done so already.
2. Content Marketing.
If you are just stating out in an online business or even if you have started or a pro in the game, people and potential customers need to find you and know about you. The best way to do this is to produce content as part of your online marketing strategy.
This could be in a variety of forms including blog posts like this one, YouTube videos or audio in the form of podcasts. I have written an article that can help you out so just CLICK HERE to find more useful information about content marketing and other basic information you should know when starting an online business as a beginner.
3. Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
If no one knows who you are, what your website is about or where they can find you, it will be hard to survive or make money online with your business. That is why it is crucial that you do a little research and learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) so that your website will rank better in search engines like google, yahoo, etc.
I do search engine optimization myself. In the beginning I sucked at it but with the help of some great WordPress plugins plus a little research I am getting better and better with it. Of course whether you want to pay someone to do your website and SEO or not is up to you and will depend on several factors such as the time you have, how much money you have, etc.
Still I believe learning it is good for when you have any questions for the person you hire who is doing it, if you want to make changes yourself if they are not available and provides you with a new skill that you could be able to use to make money online in the future.
Whether you do it yourself or not, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a must and is an online marketing strategy that you shouldn’t ignore in this or any other year.
4. Conversion Optimization.
Getting people to your website through content marketing, SEO and other ways is great. You could be selling a product or service but now you need to convert those who visit to real customers or potential customers.
Conversation rate is the amount of times a person visits your website divided by the amount of times they take action such as buying a product or service or opting into an email marketing list.
You want to make sure that you create content that converts well and regularly test to see how well you are performing.
5. Social Media Marketing.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Ever heard of them? Unless you have lived in a cave for the past 20 years or so of course you have.
The world uses social media and there are so many people to reach you would be missing a lot if you’re not to using it as part of your online marketing strategy.
Whether you want to grow organically or through paid advertising, use social media to connect with an audience, build your brand, drive traffic to your website and make sales.
6. Email Marketing.
When someone visits your online business and opts into your email list, they have the potential of becoming a customer. It’s a fact. They are already interested in what you have to say otherwise they wouldn’t have opted into your email list to begin with.
Email marketing campaigns allow you to send emails to prospects to help them fulfill whatever need or desire they may have. This is truly powerful stuff.
So powerful that I have written an article dedicated to it called “Email copy that sales: Best Email Writing Strategy.” If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly recommend you do as part of your online marketing strategy.
7. Comment on Relevant Content.
If you come across content that is similar and relevant to what your niche and online business is, leave a comment about it. Leave a comment that is relevant to something that you are doing.
This will give you credibility in the eyes of others and they may visit your website to check you out if you have left the information.
Whatever you do though, do not spam people with irrelevant comments such as “Hey! check out my website!” at wherever your website is hosted at. I hate it and I’m pretty sure most of the world hates it too.
What’s the Most EffectiveOnlie Marketing Strategy?
According to smart insights, the most effective online marketing strategy in 2017 was social media marketing. People are already searching for what they love on different social media places like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
You can run ads for sales or campaigns but there are many other reasons why you should use social media marketing like increasing website traffic, starting conversations and making relationships, creating a brand identity and brand awareness.
Plan and make good content by doing keyword research and competition research to see what others in your niche are doing to get engagement. Make sure you post regularly and offer valuable information that others find helpful and interesting.
All in all doing social media marketing is one of if not the most effective online strategies to continue tocontinue with this year and beyond.
